Give thanks to God for all her gifts so freely bestowed upon us…. for the beauty and wonder of creation, in earth and sky and sea; For the richness of the mountains, plains and rivers; For all creatures that breathe, and move, and have life; For the songs of birds and the loveliness of flowers and trees; May we continue to grow in our grateful enjoyment of God’s abundant creation.

Scripture Reading: Psalm 104:10 – 24 by Dianne O’Donnell
You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills, giving drink to every wild animal; the wild asses quench their thirst. By the streams the birds of the air have their habitation; they sing among the branches. From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.
You cause the grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for people to use, to bring forth food from the earth, and wine to gladden the human heart, oil to make the face shine, and bread to strengthen the human heart. The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. In them the birds build their nests; the stork has its home in the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the coneys.
You have made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. You make darkness, and it is night, when all the animals of the forest come creeping out. The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God. When the sun rises, they withdraw and lie down in their dens. People go out to their work and to their labor until the evening.
O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
Sermon by Pastor Walter Lockhart
Special Performance Janet Skidmore and Cheryl Kramer
Circle Introduction:(Read together)
Most high, almighty God, our Creator, yours are the praise, the glory, the honor and all blessings! To you alone do all things belong. Be praised for giving us the animals, birds and fish which fill your world. May we think of you and thank you when we play with and care for our pets. O God, your world is wonderful. May we all come into the kingdom of heaven where we shall live and love forever. Amen.

The Story Celebration: Sun, Oct 2, 2 pm to 6:30 pm.
Rummage Sale Set up begins: Mon, October 3.
Please bring your good condition used items. We can use clothing, furniture, household items, jewelry, luggage, toys, books, linens, small appliances, and other items. Please no computers, TVs, or mattresses. It’s our biggest fundraiser, and we made over $7,000 last year to support our mission.
Please do not bring any rummage before Sunday, October 2 between 6:30 pm & 8:30 pm when Lulu will be here to collect it. The Story will be having their Celebration & Childcare in the entire building after our Celebration so we can’t fill it up with rummage until after 6:30 pm. If rummage is left in the church before then, we will have to discard it, which can cost the church money for an extra waste pickup. There is no space in the church that is not already being used for our activities.
Preferably bring rummage between 9 AM and 8 PM on Monday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 4. Volunteers will be at the church then to receive your clean, usable items. Starting Wednesday, the volunteers will be fully occupied in organizing and pricing, and will not have time to sort additional contributions.
