A Celebration of the Life of Patricia Watkins will be held here at Walker Church on Saturday, July 29 with visitation beginning at 10 am and an 11 am service followed by a luncheon at about noon.

Please be aware that the luncheon is not a potluck but rather a fully catered lunch.  The caterers are bringing in all the food, setting it up and taking care of clean-up so everyone coming to the Celebration can gather and have time to converse during the lunch.

Also, be aware that Walker will have use of a parking lot on Saturday and there will be a Walker Church sign by its entrance:  Walker is on the corner of 16^th Avenue and 31^st Street.  From that corner go north on 16^th Avenue towards Lake Street. On the west side of the street you will pass 5 houses and then a big parking lot that has no entrance. You can park in the next small lot that has an entrance just south of the utility pole (Be sure NOT to park in the lot with a sign reading 1527 E Lake Building Parking Only- they may tow from that lot.)

Improvisation Group:  Sun, July 30, from 12:15 to 1:15 pm in the sanctuary to explore group reading and group dance, led by Janet Skidmore.  (They will also meet August 27) All are welcome with no previous experience necessary. FFI Janet

 

Bluegrass Jam: Mon, July 31, 7 pm-10 pm Free, come to jam or listen.

 

Community Meal:  Tues, Aug 1, 5:30 to 7 pm.  Cook, Pastor Walter Lockhart.  Please sign up if you can help.

 

National Night Out:  Tues, Aug 1, 6 to 8 pm on 16^th Avenue–which will be closed to cars.  (It will be in the Walker sanctuary in case of rain.) This event is being planned by our neighbors on our block and across our alley and will include snacks, games and activities for children and time to get to know one another. If you would like to help, please contact Jennifer.

 

Sunday Celebration August 6 will be held in the backyard of Walker Church and will be followed by a potluck. Pastor Walter Lockhart giving the sermon
