5 minutes of silence
(from). “Earth Psalms”, by Angela Magara
(A Psalm to rejoice in Spring.)
SONG 66
Shout, shout with joy.
Shout for the honor that is Life.
Shout the greatness of this world,
And the pleasure and pain of Life.
Ring the Universe with gratitude.
For bulbs do burst to flowers and
Seeds spring to life without labor, enfolded
in
Time’s cloak.
As do we.
Sing aloud while there is breath.
When we lost hope Life held us with her faithfulness.
When we were afraid, in Her we found comfort.
As surely as our mother’s bodies held us ‘til we
Knew birth, so;
Earth, our mother, holds us patiently until it is time.
Song I offer, incense from heart fire.
Sweet syrup of my Voice.
Blessed, blessed is this Life.
Beauty held in amber
For a moment, a glance, a shout.
Invocation: Mary Parker
Spring Processional: All join in as you learn the tune!
Whither shall we follow, follow, follow?
Whither shall we follow? Follow Thee!
To the greenwood, greenwood, greenwood,
To the greenwood, greenwood tree!
Poetry: Tony Wentersdorf
Reading from Earth Psalms: Bonita Blumenauer
Five Minutes of Silence
Welcome, Announcements, Offering: Walter Lockhart
Scripture Reading: John 12:12 – 16 Howard Kranz
The next day the great crowd that had come to the festival heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.
So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of God!”
Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it; as it is written:
“Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”
His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that
these things had been written of him and had been done to him.
