Building and Grounds Meeting Minutes
March 8, 2017
Those present: Ed Ed Mueller, Al Hildenbrand, Walter Lockhart, Kristine Smith, Kent Eklund
Minutes of the last meeting of the Buildings & Grounds, Feb. 8, 2016, are approved as read.
Yard barn for yard implements. Paint it brick red. Kristine and Ed Ed like the location against the Sanctuary west wall just south of the door to the back yard from the Sanctuary.
Storage walls in the basement were discussed.
The new (scratched and dented) washer dryer is in the building and up on the second floor. Some repair is indicated for the dryer.
North side plants need to be replaced, as there are a bunch have died. Weeding was done in the fall, but it is anticipated that what is below ground will erupt soon this spring. The Peace Pole ringing with plants is problematic because of the proximity to the sidewalk and the likely salt exposure from sidewalk winter care.
Ed Ed is interested in a yard work day.
Kristine is interested in a treatment of the half moon of yard at the main entry to the Church.
Kent brought up the idea of plantings along the west backyard metal fence in order to effect more of a sense of separation from the alley traffic and neighbors.
