Lao Tzu #2; Witter Bynner Translation read by Pastor Walter Lockhart
People through finding something beautiful
Think something else unbeautiful,
Through finding one man fit
Judge another unfit.
Life and death, though stemming from each other,
seem to conflict as stages of change,
Difficult and easy as phases of achievement,
Long and short as measures of contrast,
High and low as degrees of relation;
But, since the varying tones give music to a voice
And what is is the was of what shall be,
The sanest man
Sets up no deed,
Lays down no law
Takes everything that happens as it comes,
As something to animate, not to appropriate,
To earn not to own
To accept naturally without self importance:
If you never assume importance
You never lose it.
Stillness performed by David West, Sylvia Scoggins, Dianne O’Donnell, Cheryl Kramer, Mary Parker
Skeleton Song performed by Mary Parker et al
Ain’t Got Time to Die by Hall Johnson performed by the Walker Singers with a Solo by Jim Feldman
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 read by Pastor Walter Lockhart
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven;
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time for war, and a time for peace.

The idea is to read stories, journal entries, diaries, memories from your own life…to share these tales with others, thus bringing witnesses to validate your experiences; to open others’ consciousnesses to alternate realities; to help you to deal with your own past! So whether you have dozens of dusty journals in the closet or whether you need to sit down and scrawl a few paragraphs to share, or whether you only want to participate as an honored Witness, PLEASE join us!
