Come to our fundraiser event for our fellow students who are going to attend this event and will share their testimonies about the experienced reality in Mexico. Instructor: Gustavo Boada. As the daylight lessens and the cold steps up, winter invites us to create warmth and radiance with gorgeous paper lanterns! Illuminate your home and decorate for holiday celebrations. Using Bamboo sticks and paper we will create beautiful luminarias in this class. Materials fee: $ 4
Ojibwe Beadwork: A Path to Understanding: Sat, Dec 5, 9 am to noon
Instructor: Julie Boada. Spend a cozy morning sipping cider and learning the basic techniques of applique bed work. You will create a simple project and leave with the skills to continue beading you dreams. This beautiful art form reflects the traditions, costumes, culture and history of the indigenous people of the area. Materials fee: TBD.

Tony Wentersdorf has just completed his new CD entitled CLASSICAL AUTOHARP IN RAG TIME. It features autoharp arrangements of some of his favorite classical melodies, as well as some ragtime tunes thrown in for good measure. The CD is for sale for $15.00. FFI Tony
Free Community Culinary Arts Training Course & ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate: Our next course is beginning Monday, November16th! We have a few open slots still, so please help us spread the word. This is a fantastic opportunity for any Minneapolis residents over the age of 16 who would like to find a job in the restaurant industry. In addition to all of the amazing hands-on experience you will get in preparing large scale meals from scratch, students also receive a ServSafe Food Handler’s certificate, and will receive job search assistance from our team here at Waite House.The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10am-1pm the week of the 16th, and 8:30am-1:30pm the subsequent weeks. Community performance opportunity! IN THE HEART OF THE BEAST THEATRE invites you to be in the choir for the holiday Mainstage Show: Between the Worlds
We are forming the choir for Between the Worlds – a love song about the beauty and the mystery of winter solstice. A river of music moves the audience along on a journey into the essential, powerful dark time of the year. MANY MANY voices are needed for this reflective celebration. We also need puppeteers!
Between the Worlds won an Ivey Award in 2013 and was named one of the top ten arts events of the year. And YOU can be involved this year!
This opportunity is best for women and LBTIQQ folks who want to explore the feminine and who enjoy singing. An ability to hold a line in harmony is appreciated. No previous experience needed.
