Building and Grounds Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the May 10, 2017, meeting were read and approved.
The progress of the water incursion assessment was discussed
The pre-fire Walker double compost bin that Al has been storing will be returned to Kristine.
About half of the yews along the north side have died. Kristine will consult with the original landscape supplier about how, and with what, to replace them.
The design of the Peace Pole rose garden was discussed considering the 31st Street wintertime salt exposure
Discussion of water flow in the front (16th Ave) side with respect to the front D shape. Al recommended plugging the gutter along the Sanctuary to see how the runoff on the sidewalk changes.
Janet talked about weeding the three garden beds. Janet introduced a note from Willow about her course work in a sustainable permaculture. The overall plans for the Church yard were discussed including the relationship to the basement water incursion potential repairs.
Ed Ed noted the basement elevator call button was found stuck so as to call the elevator continuously. Wiggling the button un-stuck the button. Calling the elevator company is not necessary.
