Building and Grounds Meeting Minutes
April 12, 2017
Those present: Ed Ed Mueller, Al Hildenbrand, Walter Lockhart
Minutes of the last meeting of the Buildings & Grounds, Mar. 8, 2016, are approved as read.
Kristine forwarded contact info and recommendation for Water Abatement Specialists Kevin Johnson and Tom Zerull, DryTech Co LLC, with Vujovich. It was moved and seconded that Al H. set up an appointment for the initial assesment. Passed.
Walter and Nathan are in the process of reworking the lowerable back stage art support and are eyeing how to hang the big step ladder in the Chair Storage Room.
Walter has found some cabinetry that can be installed in the Conference Room west wall. It was moved and seconded to hire Nathan L. to refinish the cabinets for $150.
The new (scratched and dented) washer dryer is in the building a load of laundry has now actually been done. The dryer repair was accomplished under a waranty. Ed Ed says the only thing to remember about the dryer is that if the drum is hand rotated, for some reason, the drum can only be rotated counter clockwise without causing the drum drive belt to jump the motor drive pulley. Square Trade 5 year extended waranty was tabled for 11 months.
Ed Ed is still interested in a yard work day. North side plants need to be replaced, as there are a bunch have died. Weeding was done in the fall, but it is anticipated that what is below ground will erupt soon this spring. The Peace Pole ringing with plants is problematic because of the proximity to the sidewalk and the likely salt exposure from sidewalk winter care. Kristine is interested in a treatment of the half moon of yard at the main entry to the Church and is concerned, here, also, with winter salt conditions. New City, being an environmental community, in part, is being approached by Ed Ed for possible collaboration.
An RBA (reverse pressure valve for boiler water) service letter has been received from the City and Brandi Voss has made an appointment to do the service / certification.
Rooftop air filters were considered. The elapsed hours had to be guessed at as the internal runtime tracker had probably not been reset. It was decided to replace the filters after the Spring Rummage Sale.
