Trustees Meeting Minutes
September 14, 2016
Those present: Walter Lockhart, Ed Ed Mueller, Al Hildenbrand, Wayne Bailey, K. C. Bretzke, Trenk Ebbighausen, Harlan Seelhoff, Becky Hanson
Minutes of the last meeting are lost as of this moment.
Walter reported that carts going around the SE corner of the range, upon occassion, collide with the gas burner valves, knocking them into an on position without engaging the igniter.. Walter is intending to fashion knob guards for both corner knobs.
Bathroom Motion Sensor switches have been examined and found in an “adaptive” mode. Set to 30 minutes fixed time in the Mens and Womens first floor baths.
Front door electric release repair by Kendall door installer. The adjustment of the lower latch bar requires taking the door off the hinges and turning it on its side. This fix is actually fairly easy and will be a usual method for this and all the other doors with panic-bar releases. Send installation instructions to Wayne, Jennifer, Trenk and Walter
Outdoor electrical outlet (west and north) covers damaged. The north cover just needed to be snapped back in place. The west outlet is a little more storied. Ignacio’s related a conversation with a woman at west outlet. She had a history of requiring fast food mess clean up, and subsequently warned her to not hang out at the back door. The freshly repaired outlet was damaged all over again over the night. Various ideas were discussed. Adding bench and waste receptacle was discussed. K.C. moved and Trenk seconded: Install a heavy bench and a trash receptacle on sidewalk (north) side electrical outlet location; install padlocks on the east & west receptacle covers (they have built in hasps); and add a sign at the east and west outlet locations that direct those who would charge phones to the north electrical outlet. Passed unanimously.
Dining Hall thermostat set twice to 89.6 degrees F. Not sure if it’s caused by persons or hardware. In the summer, this causes the environmental air movement in the Diining Hall to be shut off. It also causes the HVAC control computer to issue a somewhat cryptic email about VAV-07 being overridden locally without any more clarification. Remote control of the HVAC of the Dining Hall bacomes impossible in this state and requires manually setting the Dining Hall thermostat back to its correct setting (and locking it again.)
Clothes Washer / Dryer. The venting of the exhaust is now complete. The machine is ready to put in after replacing the foot-pegs with wheels.
Wall patching & Wayne’s punch list. The upstairs water fountain was probably hit with a cart hard, multiple times. Becky and Wayne worked out doing the work together in the coming days.
Julie Starr’s free use of the building that was approved in the July meeting seems to be resulting in growing numbers of people in her class.
All day parking on 31st, on Sundays? Any news? No. Resend PDF
The bathroom exhausts are driven by a single motor in the attic. It was suggested that a mechanical timeclock switch off the motor for nights. It was noted that Health Dept. regulations require fans running when the building is occupied, and the occupation schedule does not fit in a fixed schedule that a timeclock would require.
A handwritten alley sign across the alley from the Church about tricking and MPD Crime Alerts is indicating increased perception of nefarious activity.
South garden gate latch is now repaired.
Walter reports on rearranging the Committees of Walker. Give project parts to a new group called Building and Grounds. Finance and Trustees will be combined with the Council and will be called the “Council”. The process / structure is still being worked out in emails.
