Building Use Collective Minutes
7 – 14 – 15
Ed Ed reported on “future kitchen use”:
He said that using the kitchen for a vegan cooking class was a possibility.
He is in contact with a woman who is interested in using the kitchen for preparing food for a food truck. She will put together a proposal for us. She will donate food to community meals as part of the rent payment. This could serve as a test case for this type of rental. She is self insured. She may start next March. Margo said she would check on the kitchen readiness with Walter.
We revisited our mission/goals as a committee:
Walker is a community meeting ground. A big space.
Does this group want to (a) increase rentals? or (b) increase Walker events which would attract people to come here for church?
Non-rental ideas…these would appear on the calendar as free time available to all.
- Drop in center for elders looking for fellowship and games. Any community people would be welcome to this.
- CoWorking Space with daycare available…clients would arrange daycare each time with someone we designate. Clients pay daycare.
- Get together to make Christmas Cookies.
- Fireplace gathering space
Question: how would we monitor the space for these things?
Converging Visions: they had no sign ups for ukelele class and no one came to the concert. Drum circles happened twice. They need marketing help.
that’s all I got…oh, and we changed our name from Building Use Task Force to Building Use Collective.
